16/02/2015· My own method of cleaning old machinery is to: 1. Scrape off the gross accumulations of old oil, grease and ships using a "putty knife" or anything else that works as a scraper. A piece of sheet metal, old hacksaw blades ground to shape to get along side ways or dovetails, will work.
